City of Industry, California – November 30,
2006 -- Thermaltake Technology today announced the Armor
Extreme Edition, the successor to its world’s best-selling
Gaming Tower Chassis, to support AMD’s latest groundbreaking
technology, the AMD Quad FX Platform. The AMD Quad FX Platform
is a dual-socket, four-core, processor configuration uniquely
designed with Dual Socket Direct Connect (DSDC) Architecture
to exploit the latest multi-threaded applications delivered
on Windows Vista™ Ultimate and to further enhance the PC
experience for gaming and megatasking enthusiasts.
Thermaltake has worked with AMD (NYSE: AMD)
during the development phase of this high-performance chassis,
which is engineered specifically to support the AMD Quad
FX Platform by providing both structural strength and optimum
thermal efficiency. Maximum cooling capability is achieved
by implementing a Dual-Channel Air Guide that forces cool
air from outside of the system directly to each of the two
CPUs; thus, decreasing the CPU temperature tremendously
and lowering the relative ambient temperature inside the
chassis. In addition, two 120mm and two 90mm ultra-quiet
fans included offer optimum airflow within the chassis to
remove heat generated by all the components, including the
processors, multiple graphics cards and other heat sources,
to enable air cooling support for fully loaded enthusiast
configurations.
Exceptional structural engineering allows
the Armor Extreme Edition to take on all of today’s most
advanced graphic cards, storage devices and liquid cooling
systems. Eleven 5.25” bay drives and six 3.5” hard drive
bays allow users to achieve maximum flexibility when combined
with the unprecedented feature and expansion capabilities
of the AMD Quad FX Platform.
“The Armor Extreme Edition, coupled with the
AMD Quad FX Platform, is engineered for the ultimate PC
experience - enabling maximum cooling capability and flexibility,
with low overall system noise level.” said Jerry Lee, manager
of product marketing for Thermaltake chassis division.
“Thermaltake has been a tremendous collaborator
during the design phase of the AMD Quad FX Platform, both
in thermal design as well as chassis fabrication,” said
Levi Murray III, director, technology enabling and infrastructure
development, AMD. “The AMD Quad FX Platform is our ultimate
solution for the most demanding megatasking scenarios and
multi-threaded digital content creation software, ready
for the next wave of incredibly demanding multi-threaded
games.”
The Thermaltake Armor Extreme Edition is now
available in North America through leading online retailers.
