Thermaltake BlacX Duet Review

As with the original BlacX, we can definitely recommend the Duet as it provides a quick and easy solution for people who have many drives sitting around who might want to swap them in and out when needed without having to shut down their PC, open the case, mount the hard drive and then fire it all back up. It all happens by simply slipping the hard drive into the dock and waiting for it to be recognized by OS. ..

Q:  How do I format/Install My Hard Drive with MAC OS?
A:  http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Faq.aspx?ID=1101

Q:  My system doesn’t recognize the drive through eSATA but does see it through USB.
A:  Please note that a restart of the computer with the enclosure powered on may be required to recognize the HDD through an eSATA connection. However, if your motherboard supports "hot swappable" eSATA connections then a restart will not be required.

Q:  My BlacX Duet only sees one hard drive when using eSATA connection, not two?
A:  This is because your eSATA port controller on the motherboard or eSATA card does not support the "port multiplier" function. This means only one drive will be seen when connecting through the eSATA connection. If the unit is connected through USB, then both drives will be visible because all USB controllers support the “port multiplier” function.
